Green smoothie recipe

Hello everyone!

I am a HUGE smoothie addict, like I practically live off them. Smoothies and juices, especially the green kind are filled with vitamins, minerals and protein making them incredibly good for you. Since becoming vegan, I've found that I'm drinking more and more smoothies. It's a really easy way to make sure you're getting all the nutrients you need in your diet and more, especially with all the supplements on the market. I've found since I've been having a green smoothie a day my skin has been practically glowing, I've had loads more energy and they always seem to give my mood a boost. They've also helped me get into the best shape I've ever been. It's taken me a few months and a lot of experimenting to figure out the perfect smoothie combinations so I thought I would share one of my favourites with you all. I know a smoothie recipe seems quite basic and straightforward but I love seeing what other people have done and getting inspiration from them.

  • 2 large handfuls of Spinach
  • 1 Banana (chopped)
  • 6 Strawberries (halved)
  • A handful of frozen Blueberries
  • A handful of frozen Mango (chunks)
  • 2 tbsp Soy Yoghurt, I used Alpro almond yoghurt
  • Coconut milk or a milk substitute of your choice
  • 2 tsp Flax seeds
  • 2 tsp Chai seeds
  • 2 tsp Wheatgrass powder
  • 1 tsp Energy boost powder (optional)

If you want it to be super sweet you can add a natural sweetener such as Agave nectar, however I find it doesn't need it.

  • Add the two handfuls of Spinach to your cup and squash down using your hands.
  • Add the Banana, Strawberries, Blueberries and Mango chunks.
  • Add the Coconut milk (or the milk of your choice) so the cup is half full
  • Add the tablespoons of soy yoghurt and try not to eat loads of it as I always seem to do. If you have opted to add a natural sweetener this would be where you do so
  • Add the Flax seeds, Chai seeds, Wheatgrass powder and energy boost (optional)
  • Finally blend it all together in your blender, serve, enjoy and bask in the benefits of a super tasty, super healthy green juice.

Until next time
